The Company:
 
An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client an established housing provider in the UK. My client is an established housing provider with a generic housing management and supported housing services.
 
The Role:

My client is looking for a Supported Housing Officer on an initial three-month contract with the view to an extension in Oldham.
 
This is a full-time role 37.5 Hours (Monday – Friday); every other Saturday 07:30 AM – 15:00 PM shift will be required.
 
Pay Rate is £11:00 PAYE Or £14.03 Umbrella

You will advise all prospective or new tenants/residents of their rights and responsibilities under their tenancy/license agreement.
You will be responsible for ensuring that repairs are undertaken to a high standard, within an appropriate time frame and represent value for money.
You will be responsible for ensuring that accommodation units are well maintained in accordance with the management agreement and for bringing them quickly into management to minimize void loss.
You will prepare short reports on arrears, voids and repairs for the service manager, Organizations central services and commissioner meetings as required.
You will facilitate the fair allocation of letting accommodation in accordance with Organizations Policy and Procedures.
You will work with the keyworkers and clients to maximize collections of rents and service charges and hold responsibility for the accurate reporting of rental income, voids and allocations to Organizations finance team.
You will liaise with local Housing Benefit Teams, Social Service Departments, or other authorities regarding individual rental income claims.
You will work proactively with keyworkers and clients to develop personal payment plans to support clients not to incur rental debt 
The Candidate:
 
The successful candidate will have previous experience of having worked as a Supported Housing Officer or in a similar capacity for an established housing provider or a charity, including:

Experience of working within a supported and/or social housing setting
An understanding and commitment to working in an assets-based way
An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance use or care leavers.
A knowledge and understanding of intensive housing management
A knowledge and understanding of welfare benefits
Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
Able to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures
