Your new company is a nationally recognised and registered charity based in Stockport. They specialise in providing combined education and care for children and adults with complex needs, learning disabilities, autism or multi-sensory impairment. All of the children and young people have significant neurological problems and critically, all of them have limited or even no ability to communicate independently.
Your new role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be required to provide a caring, supportive and nurturing environment and establish positive relationships with the children and/or adults. Key responsibilities include:
* Assessing the needs of the service users followed by coordinating plans to ensure all needs are met
* Encouraging, motivating and caring for young people, as well as maintaining boundaries and identifying any concerns young people face in today's society
* You will also undertake a range of domestic duties
What you'll need to succeed
It essential you have a minimum of one years' experience supporting either children or adults with learning disabilities within a residential setting or a similar role. Furthermore, you will be an enthusiastic, committed and resilient individual who wants to make a difference by working as part of a team to the service users achieve positive outcomes.
