Job Overview

Overall Purpose of the Role:

The post-holder will support the administrative delivery of these programmes and will provide assistance to academic teaching staff and their students. They will also act as a senior point of contact within the Teaching & Learning Support Office in relation to all of the Department's PGT administration, and will supervise other members of the PGT administration team, including the Teaching and Learning Administrator.

Main responsibilities:

The post-holder's key duties to support PGT programmes will be as follows:

Programme administration

Provide administrative support for staff associated with PGT teaching,
Dealing with student enquiries in person, in the Teaching & Learning Support Office, along with answering telephone enquiries and routine email enquiries.
To be responsible for the administration of student records, using University systems (Campus Solutions and Power BI etc.) for:
Registration
Course Unit Enrolment
Updating Course Unit Information Publishing Material
Assessment and Examinations
Completions and Graduation
To create new course units, schedule classes, set up and maintain academic advisement rules for all PGT Programmes.
To liaise with the Teaching and Learning Manager and the Student Services Centre to ensure potential graduands are correctly identified.
To supervise the production of the PGT teaching timetables, in conjunction with the Taught Programmes Officer. Liaising with the Faculty Planning and Timetabling Office and course unit leads when required.
To be responsible for the production of PGT laboratory timetables. Working with course unit leads to define laboratory requirements and overseeing the work of the PGT Administrator.
To produce official documentation such as student transcripts and letters and programme handbooks as required.
Servicing of Committees and Exam Boards as required.
Assisting the organisation of social and student induction events.
To be responsible for the monitoring and recording of work and attendance of students, in line with Department and University Policy where appropriate.
Coordinate the completion of the International Student Census for PGT Students.
Responsible for the CAS production for continuing PGT Students, liaising directly with the central International Advice Team where appropriate.
Maintaining the PGT Virtual Common Room in Blackboard. Including allocating students to project groups.
To supervise the maintenance of all PGT shared mailboxes, ensuring that all queries are answered in a timely fashion and offering guidance to the PGT Administrator and Teaching and Learning Administrator when required.
To liaise with the Student Welfare and Experience Officer regarding special permissions for PGT Students, including: interruptions and extension requests.
