Senior Finance Manager

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity to join our finance team in the North. Reporting directly into the Financial Controller the primary responsibility of the Senior Finance Manager (SFM) is to ensure that the Company financial policies and procedures are rigorously applied within the contracts under remit. This will include acting as a business partner to the operational management teams to enable maximum financial performance whilst also ensuring risks are minimised.

Duties & Responsibilities:

To ensure accuracy and integrity in all financial reporting for contracts under SFM remit including full compliance with all relevant Group and US Accounting Policies.
To support Operational Management in achieving business objectives through proactive management of the financial affairs of the contracts under SFM remit including:

Preparation of monthly management accounts and submission to the Financial Controller, Operations in accordance with published timetable.
Preparation of budgets and forecasts in accordance with Group requirements. Presentation of Budgets and Forecasts to OLT.
Management of any delegated financial administration and transaction processing, including customer billing, in accordance with EMCOR Accounting Procedures.
Assisting with preparation of contract pricing where required and ensuring that allowances for statutory costs are accurate.
Control of contract set-up and budgeting in the Company's financial reporting systems.
Ensuring that the Contract Financial Review programme is carried out in accordance with Company Policy.
Regular reviews of 90 day debt and assisting the account teams/Credit Control department in resolving any issues and collecting overdue balances.
Monitor unbilled WIP to ensure works are billed in a timely manner.
Financial awareness/process training for Operational staff.
Ensuring that the Financial Controller, Operations and the Chief Financial Officer are fully apprised of any areas of concern/default.
Recruitment, training and motivation of any subordinate finance staff within the contracts under remit by agreement with the Financial Controller, Operations.
Working as part of a Senior Finance team to suggest, review and implement cost saving and/or profit generating measures across the business with the support of the OLT.

Person Specification

Professionally qualified with post qualification experience or qualified by experience in a similar role.
Demonstrable staff management experience – training, appraisal, development and support.
Experience of a high-volume service environment is essential.
Contract based accounting experience.
High levels of spreadsheet (Excel) proficiency.
Experience of JD Edwards System is preferable but not essential.
Good commercial acumen/awareness.
Strong communicator – at all levels.
