Senior DevOps Engineer – Cloud, Linux, Virtualisation
Manchester / Remote – £55,000 – £65,000 + Benefits
Senior DevOps Engineer with knowledge of cloud-hosted virtual platforms and extensive Linux experience is sought by a leading telecommunications business in Manchester.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer looking to make their mark on some exciting and highly regarded projects. The company are passionate about being at the forefront of technology and so you will be invited to make suggestions on the implementation of tech and new ways of working.
The successful Senior DevOps Engineer will have experience and knowledge of the following:
Background within cloud computing environment (AWS / Azure / GCP)
Expertise with using Linux and experience working in a systems administrator, site reliability or other associated position.
Virtualisation experience (VMWare, etc)
Strong programming skills, ideally within Python
Experience of one or more automation frameworks such as Ansible, Salt Stack or Nornir.
Experience of using Git for revision control in a collaborative environment.
You are a logical thinker; you have good problem-solving abilities and can think of different solutions to intransigent problems.
Desirable Skillsets:
You have experience of implementation of Git-based CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins
You have an understanding of IP networking
Experience of test automation
Experience of both waterfall- and agile- driven environments.
