The Company:
An established manufacturing firm operating for over 40 years. A manufacturer of Quality British clothing, supplying the High street and various other sectors within the industry. Our clients aim to cater to all requirements and hence have an extensive portfolio. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Multi-Product Production Pattern Cutter with a passion for garment construction and attention to detail to join family run manufacturing business.
The Role:
* Designing new developments based on current and future trends, Comp shop research and client requirements.
* Sourcing relevant fabrics and trims from a list of preferred suppliers.
* Maintaining the fabric and trims library with up-to-date materials.
* Creating initial patterns based on own design sketches, client design packs, images, inspirations etc. to a high standard. Ensuring patterns are production and cost effective.
* Sourcing relevant fabrics and trims from a list of preferred suppliers.
* Maintaining the fabric and trims library with up-to-date materials.
* Creating pattern tech packs with up-to-date information in relation to the style, material, trims etc. and size chart measurements.
* Working alongside other members of the team, such as Sample machinist, Graders, production manager, Sales manager etc.
* Complete end of day reports and ensure sample room targets are met.
* This is a technical role, hence, a sound understanding of Pattern cutting and garment makeup is necessary, as well as interpretation of increment charts.
* You will be required to adhere to the Critical Path, and ensure work is completed within a specified time-frame so time-keeping and organisation may prove very important
* You will be required to plan and organise your work, ensure your area is kept neat and tidy and that all work is completed in a methodical manner
Skills Required:
* Have a minimum of 5 years of previous design experience or have worked for some time in a similar environment.
* Possess Garment tech pack knowledge and interpretation skills
* Be able to construct blocks based on clients sizing requirements.
* Demonstrate good time-keeping and organisational skills
* Be a good team player and be able to liaise with other departments.
* Demonstrate intuitive approach and flexible work ethic.
* Demonstrate strong confidence and initiative
* Have a wide knowledge of textiles and their manufacture into quality garments
* Understand the production process thoroughly
* Demonstrate sound use of Office software, such as Word and Excel
