Key Accountabilities

* Estimate a variety of projects to an excellent level of quality and standard and measuring cost to value for each

* Ensure architects instructions and variations are obtained and properly valued

* Complete tender documents, including details regarding quantities of required materials

* Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, specifications and related documents

* Identify labour, material and time requirements by studying proposals, specifications and related documents

* Compute costs by analysing labour, material and time requirements

* Maintain project cost tracking spreadsheets

* Carry out site surveys and assessments

* Evaluate customer specifications, ensuring compliance with necessary regulations and providing clients with suggestions to best suit their budget whilst maximising turnover

* Keep detailed records of all estimation documentation

* Maintain sub-contractor and suppliers’ data base

* Build and manage relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers

* Protect the company’s best contractual interests at all times

* Proven ability of producing and managing accurate estimates/budgets

* Advanced skills with spreadsheets and report writing

Qualifications and Experience

* BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar degree or experience

* Two years quantity surveying/estimating experience (Hopefully) within the residential/domestic section of the construction industry

* Proficient in MS Office and Excel

* A high standard of numeracy and literacy

* A valid and clean driving licence
