Job Coach – Supported Internship– Our client have an exciting opportunity for a Job Coach to support people with disabilities in realising their aspirations to participate in work-related activities, and facilitate individuals’ progression into paid work, through volunteering, education and training, work experience and other routes.
Who we are
Our client is a leading national charity. This role will see you supporting 3-4 final year college students, on a supported internship programme to access the world of work through a placement year at one of our two host sites. You will be based on site, with our learners, so you will be an integral part of their journey and a key support for them.
Making it happen- Your Role
This role is extremely rewarding and varied. You will have the responsibility of supporting the interns through a place and train model, throughout the academic year (Sept – August). You will be responsible for ensuring their learning is relevant to the roles they are undertaking and be able to recognise where adjustments may need to be made. The aim of the internship is to secure paid employment for your cohort at the end of the academic year, so with this in mind, you will be responsible for liaising across multi-disciplinary sites, as well as participating in various meetings with various stakeholders.
They are looking for individuals who have a passion and enthusiasm for employability skills and training. They are looking for two experienced individuals to support our interns to realise their aspirations in work related activities. You will be a confident communicator, have a good knowledge of the world of work, be experienced in dealing with stakeholders at different levels, be a good communicator and be able to support our interns in their journey at work.
This Job Coach – Supported Internship role is a permanent, full-time position. On offer is a competitive salary of £20,000 per annum. Other benefits will include, 20 days paid annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays), pension contribution, additional annual leave after 3- and 5-years’ service, access to free occupational health, physiotherapy, counselling, and advice services.
