The Company:
 
An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client an established housing provider in the UK. My client is an established housing provider with a generic housing management and supported housing services.
 
The Role:

This role is initially for a three-to-four-month contract with a view to a potential extension and possibility to go permanent.

My client is looking for an experienced Housing Support Worker to provide support and housing management services to areas such as drug and alcohol abuse, homeless and mental health problems, debt and lack of independent living skills

The Pay Rate for this role is £9.30 PAYE Plus Holiday Pay OR £11.86 Per Hour on Umbrella.

This is a full-time role 37.5 Hours flexible Rota; including evenings, weekends and bank holidays shift will be required.

Shift Pattern – Morning: 08:00 AM – 15:30 PM AND Late: 15:30 PM – 20:00 PM

Suitable candidate will need a Full UK Driver’s License and access to a vehicle and an Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months.

The role will be based in Oldham
 
Day to day duties will include:

Ensure the safety and well being of clients in the service at all times possible, including using safeguarding and emergency alert procedures where applicable
Carry a caseload of clients for whom you will be the named key worker, and you will also take joint responsibility with your team members for the well-being and day to day support of all clients in the services
Provide Housing related support to key clients including housing benefits advice.
Lead on risk and needs assessment and support planning for your key clients and contribute to ongoing needs and risk assessment of other clients in the service
Have responsibility as a member of the team for preparing the accommodation for new clients to move into and supporting the client to settle in
Support and facilitate the work of the volunteers who add value to the work that we do
Establish and maintain good working relationships with external stakeholders 
The Candidate:
 
The successful candidate will have previous experience of having worked as a Housing Support Worker or in a similar capacity for an established housing provider or a charity, including:

Experience in outreach support with rough sleepers and vulnerable young people
Experience of working in Homeless prevention teams
Experience of Safeguarding in children and adults and operating safeguarding requirements and procedures
Experience of using Risk Assessments and Support Planning tools
Experience of managing a large case load, recording and record keeping
Experience of lone working, and hitting set outcomes
Excellent communication skills, literacy, numeracy and IT skills
Commitment to promoting an environment, which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others.
