Job Overview

Calibre Search are delighted to be working with a growing independent Consultancy based in Manchester now looking for their next strategic hire for a Senior to Associate level Quantity Surveyor to join them.

For their Consultancy team alone, they have a strong team of 6 so far offering a full mixture of construction, project management, CDM Advisory, Employers Agent and Quantity Surveying services across the North of England.

They've really picked up in the last few years and due to a retirement of one of their seniors, they have a role available for the right QS to become integral to their services and become a Team Leader to help the Directors of the business managing the team and helping developing their QS services.

The practice themselves are heavily involved in a lot of PRS and Commercial developments happening later this year which you will play a pivotal part in from a QS point of view. Business development would be advantageous however not necessary as there's plenty of work to get on with straight away.

Very much a role you can make your own as the two Directors like their staff to take the initiative on what they want out of their careers and are very open and supportive to make that a reality.

Requirements:

Have strong communication (both written and verbal) skills and an interpersonal style that enables you to flourish in a direct client facing role
BSc qualified in Quantity surveying (or similar degree) with previous experience (ideally) working within a consultancy environment.
Be able to chair meetings and have the leadership skills needed to lead a project team, which may sometimes include managing conflict and resolving complex issues
Have exceptional planning and organisation skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple demands
Be able to work independently, make sensible judgments and decisions, and take responsibility for doing whatever it takes to get the job done.
To assist in the management of the delivery of all pre & post contract services, comprising dealing with cost variances and associated change control processes, conducting valuation processes, carrying out cost checks, producing regular cost reports, negotiating and agreeing final accounts.
