Job Overview

This PLC business has continued to go from strength to strength over the last 12 months despite the global pandemic by delivering on its clearly defined strategy. Procurement has played its part in this success through serving its internal customers exceptionally well.

To continue this trend, the business requires someone to come into the Procurement department as Category Buyer and cover a member of the team as they go on maternity.

The individual will need to have the people skills to work closely with internal stakeholders and deliver on their needs. This typically looks at providing competitive quotes swiftly when enquiries are raised and solving source of supply issues immediately when availability becomes a problem.

More specifically, the Category Buyer will:

– demonstrate expertise and understanding of the products in their categories

– work closely with the Category Manager to agree buying strategies for those Categories under their control

– Deliver new product development and innovation in line with Category Strategies

– Maintain control of the supply base

This role would suit anyone with previous buying experience, looking to get a great business on their CV and help them go futher in the area of Procurement
