Business Analyst – ecommerce

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Business Analyst to join one of the North West's leading ecommerce retailers.

As a Multichannel Business Analyst, you will be responsible for defining business requirements and contributing to the design of solutions across the organisations Multichannel platforms and applications in an exciting, fast paced multi-fascia environment.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

Ensure projects and change requests are clearly defined and aligned to the overall multichannel strategy
Identify an appropriate business analysis approach for each project or change request
Breakdown the approach into tasks and plan your work in line with business priorities
Identify stakeholders and use appropriate techniques to investigate business situations, consider different perspectives and capture high level requirements
Validate requirements in line with objectives and scope, identifying and managing conflicts
Create a backlog of user stories, working with stakeholders, development teams and testers to produce high level estimates
Work with business sponsors to prioritise backlogs into sprints and releases
Provide acceptance criteria and lower level detail for sprints to aid developers and testers
Ensure suitable options are considered before agreeing the solution design
Encourage stakeholder, developer and tester collaboration to clarify intention and estimate effort
Support development and testing during sprints and provide support during playback sessions where required
Manage the requirement backlog and assess the impact of change requests
Review functional test scripts for completeness and work with test team to provide assessments on suitability product releases for go live
Identify and communicate any risks that may affect the scheduled release and identify mitigation measures
Take responsibility for your personal development including working with your manager to set objectives and milestones and identify your training needs
Identify new ways of working and supporting technologies that will assist the team to become more efficient and deliver a higher quality of business analysis to the business
From time to time carry out other duties within the scope of the role such as training and user acceptance testing

Skills / Experience / Knowledge Needed:

Business analysis experience gained in ecommerce or multichannel retail environments is highly advantageous
Strong facilitation and influencing skills
Confidence to question stakeholders and identify underlying requirements
Self-starter able to work with limited guidance
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and plan/manage time accordingly
Experience of capturing, validating and analysing requirements
Experience in an Agile Scrum environment, writing user stories and acceptance criteria
Experience of producing process maps and process flow models
Exposure to the full software development life-cycle
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Diligent, focused and dependable, able to build strong relationships based on integrity
Team player able to work constructively with project managers, business analysts, developers, suppliers, testers, business stakeholders and management

Desirable Skills / Experience

Certification in Agile such as Business Analyst/Product Owner/Scrum Master
Professional certification such as the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis
Experience working with retail/multichannel teams such as merchandising, marketing, finance, loss control, UX, design, operations, analytics, customer care, customer acquisition and retention
