Team Leader
Our Client is an established manufacturing company based in Ashton-Under-Lyne.
Due to continued progression and growth, our Client is looking to recruit Team Leader (6am to 2pm) to join their busy team in their site in Ashton-under-Lyne.
They are looking for self-motivated individuals who can conduct themselves in a professional and positive manner at all times.
The Team Leader role is to achieve results through the people.
In the context of your team, the leader’s role should be to provide direction.
Reporting to the shift manager and working closely with the other Team Leader and support functions.
You will be accountable for the delivery of standards and performance in your area (Process and Packing) relating to:
* Safety
* Food Safety (inc GMP)
* Quality
* Cost
* Performance
* People
Team Leader (Night Shift) Duties
Ensures that everyone in their area is working in a safe and food safe manner following defined company policies and procedures and GMP. Ensures completion of all relevant H&S checks including start-up, fire registers etc.
Process confirms that regular Asset care, GMP, Food Safety routines and Quality checks have been carried out and takes corrective action to return to standard all equipment and product they are responsible for.
Audits all relevant documentation to ensure they are completed accurately and in a timely manner, providing full traceability, audit compliance and information flow in accordance with company requirements.
Drives performance in waste reduction and control specifically relating to Turn of scale; rework; pig food and rejects.
Leads the area to ensure the achievement of daily; weekly; monthly; annual production targets through the effective deployment of resources; forward planning and continuous improvement.
Plans to make sure all unit team are fully trained to carry out the requirements of their role in conducting training and development of direct reports.
Manages the performance of their unit team e.g. employee relations and welfare; succession planning; absence management; discipline; grievances.
Communicates a variety of on shift directional communications including e.g. formal handover to the next shift; good to go; good to go home and mid-shift reviews.

* Near miss, First aid and Accident reporting
* Efficiency to plan and OEE
* TOS, Pig food, rework, rejects
* NC and food review scores
* GMP scores
* Absence levels and return to works
Levels of Responsibility
Responsible for developing and coaching Production team
Accountable for Food safety system operation in production
Responsible for H&S of staff and self
Responsible for cost effective production of quality products
Responsible for maintaining GMP, Documentation and Standards
Aptitude/Skills Required
* Coach / Mentor / Leader.
* Good IT skills.
* Able to understand and interpret KPI’s.
* Understanding of manufacturing processes and how to assess them to reduce waste.

Job Type: Full-time
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Location: Ashton-Under-Lyne
Shift hours:
* 10pm to 6am (if you chose the Night Shift)
* 6am to 2pm / 2pm – 10pm Rotating Shift (If you chose this Shift)
Premium (Night Shift Only)
* +£2600 Night Shift Premium per year
Reports to: Shift Manager
