Year 1 SEND Teaching Assistant
The position would commence from September 2021
The ideal candidate for this role should have experience of supporting children with additional needs, in particular children on the Autistic spectrum. You must have tools to build strong relationships, set boundaries, be consistent, be engaging and supportive; be able to manage behaviours that can become challenging and know how to support children if they go into crisis.
If you have a tam teach qualification this will also support your application, but it is not a must.
The child you will be supporting is on the Autistic Spectrum and has an individual education plan EHCP already in place. Your main duty in this role will be to support the child on a 1:1 basis with their learning, as well as supporting with emotional and social support. There will also be an element of behaviour management involved and support with peer interaction.

You will be working in a very supportive primary school in central Manchester. This school has a high proportion of children with additional needs so there are some fantastic process in place and you will feel supported and valued in this school. This school is two form entry so you will have the opportunity to share good practice with your colleagues, the schools SENCO and SLT.
Rate of Pay and Working hours £65 – £75 per day dependant on qualifications, working hours of 8.30am -4:00pm
